Production Update! Dice Sneak Peek! Vibraphone in the Spotlight!

Hi all!
It's been a minute, but we've been working hard on getting everything ready for The Gig's production!
The Encore! Expansion
It's always a bit of a risk adding content after the campaign is over, but we were absolutely blown away by the support you guys gave the Encore! Expansion!
The majority of you have already added it to your pledge, but for those of you who haven't, remember that it's a limited printing and may not be available in future! If you haven't grabbed one already, you can do so on the pledge manager here. You won't even be charged for a while yet!
Production Update
We haven't finished getting all the files ready for production yet, but we're not far off!
We have however submitted the final specs to the factory so they can produce white samples of everything, and (after much deliberation!) we decided on the colours for our dice, so we've seen some pictures of them before they're sent to us alongside the white sample!

They're looking pretty tasty so far!
Remember, if you want individual dice for all the instruments, you'll need to add an Extra Dice Set to your order on the pledge manager here.
We'll be sure to share some images of the white sample when we have it!
Vibraphone Spotlight
Our WIP Vibraphone board art.
For the Vibraphone (the first of our three Guest Star instruments voted for by you all) we wanted to emulate the feeling of a 'glissando' – that's the thing you've probably done on a piano before where you drag your finger from one end to the other, playing every key in a row like you're strumming a harp!
To do this we added a 'groove zone' in the centre 2 rows of the instrument. The more grooves you get that include part of this zone, the more points you get in the end – up to a massive 30pts! It's a tricky puzzle, but incredibly satisfying to play!

The Gig: Encore! Expansion introduces 3 new instruments to the game, each with their own unique mechanics and a set of matching dice!
Use a quick hand to balance your drums with THE CONGAS! Balance gentle harmonies with THE FLUTE! And show off your natural scatting skills with THE SCAT SINGER!
The Encore! Expansion is compatible with all game modes in The Gig, including solitaire mode! Includes:

As well as the expansion, we’ve been making good headway designing and refining our Guest Star instruments that you all voted for during the campaign!

As you can see we've made a few tweaks, with the Organ getting the bulk of the changes! Mechanically they're all playing really well, and we're excited to share more in our Instrument Spotlights!
But that's enough of an info dump for now, so we'll save that for another time!

We did it! Vote #3 Results! What Happens Next!

Thank you all so much!
Wow, what a turnout! That last vote was our biggest, and closest yet!
And so, as we end our campaign for TheGig, I am thrilled to bring to the stage our third and final guest star of the evening – The Organ!
Like a rapturous applause at the end of a show, over 100 of you voted in our tightest vote yet – it was so tight, in fact, that I had to have another image at the ready...
That means at the end of a fantastic campaign, you guys are not only getting the core game, but an exclusive expansion, and three additional instruments!
But do you want... more?! As we saw the demand for different instruments – with popular runners-up like the Conga, Flute, and Harmonica making frequent appearances – we had the idea of making a mini expansion available, so you could increase the size of your band to 14 instruments!
Letus know in the comments if you'd be interested in paying a little extra to have 3 more instruments added to the game! If possible, let us know how much you'd be willing to pay, too, and we'll see if we can make it happen!
What happens next?
If you've not backed one of our Kickstarters before, here's what you can expect next:
A short while after the campaign launches, we'll launch a BackerKit, which is a separate website where you'll need to give us your address, decide which add-ons you want with your game, and pay the appropriate amount of shipping.
If you're a "Top Billing" backer, we'll contact you via email and Kickstarter message to ask you for the reference images you want us to use to illustrate you as an Audience card! We'll need to finish these before we can start production, so please keep to the deadline we provide – there are no refunds if you don't give us an image, so keep an eye on your emails!
We'll provide regular updates (at least 1 a month, so as not to bombard your inbox!) via Kickstarter as to our production progress. Currently, we expect to deliver The Gig in April of 2023, but we'll let you know if it ends up being earlier or later!

Instrument Spotlight #7 – The Trombone
Another iconic brass instrument, the trombone might not be famed for its solos, but in The Gig, they're quite the showstopper!
While researching for the game, we noticed that the Trombone is all about back-and-forth motion – moving the slide back and forth, dancing up and down, and striking routines in marching bands like this one:
At first, we thought the natural direction (pardon the pun) would be to go against the tide, and give point bonuses for adding shapes to your solo that weren’t straight lines – given that the shape of the instrument is relatively straight, it seemed like this would add a good challenge.
But when we tested it, we found that straight lines were harder to fit into the puzzle, and it made playing the Trombone feel really distinct compared to the other instruments! So we upped the bonus, and gave the Trombone its very-straightforward (ok, that one was intentional) rule: 5pts for every straight groove (shape) in your solo!
So rack up those Repeats and choose your rows, because it’s time to play the Trombone!

It's the final 24 hours of The Gig Kickstarter, and wow, what a jump in funding!
Could we even hit 200%?! Who can tell!
But we've got lots to do, so let's crack on!

Having already welcomed the Clarinet and Vibraphone into our ranks, it's time to commence with our third and final Guest Star vote!

Instrument Spotlight #8: Guitar 🎸
You could say we saved the best for last – because is there any instrument solo more iconic than a guitar solo?! Well in The Gig, it’s no different!
On the surface, The Guitar is a reliable and flexible instrument that can support a number of strategies, with plenty of notation symbols, spotlights, points and multipliers on offer!
But on closer inspection, you’ll notice that when you’re playing a guitar solo, it’s not just about what you play – it’s where you play it in the song!
You see, the Guitar’s unique plectrum symbol allows it to pick one of the spaces you played a dice onto on the song and gain that symbol again! If you time it right, this is a great way to clinch a symbol majority or grab that just-one-more-spotlight you need to win over a particularly helpful audience member!
